In this article, we wanted to cover the key points of how our app for Shopify works and what you need to keep in mind while using it.

Product generation

CPB - Custom product builder for Shopify is designed primarily to work with new products, which means that the suggested method of use is creating new products in the app's interface, rather than applying customizations to already existing products.

The products created in the app's interface will get cpb_product type which is required for the app to run both on the admin panel and storefront. If you remove the cpb_product type - the app will stop working on the front end.

Also, to bypass pricing limitations of Shopify our app may generate new products, you can check this article on Add to Cart methods, to check if you can/need to turn off this feature.

Customization

Our app doesn't work directly with the product template that you are using in Shopify - it replaces it with its own interface, which contains all the options and choices you build on the admin panel of our app. Changes in Shopify's customize section as well as third-party apps as Pagefly can't affect the layout of CPB on the storefront.
